After working as an in-house wallpaper designer for five years, I decided to go freelance in 2013 to design for wider range of products and return to my love of drawing. I’ve since worked on freelance projects ranging from wallpaper, bedding, dinnerware, stationery and garden products.
Alongside this I’ve grown my own brand of products which now includes fashion and home accessories, stationery, art prints and gifts. These are sold online and via a growing number of stockists. I work closely with UK suppliers as local as possible, the designs are digitally printed which offers vibrant colour and eye-catching detail.
Having grown up in rural Shropshire, nature has always been the key inspiration for me. In 2016 I decided to explore this in more depth, embarking on a Masters in Textile Design at Birmingham City University focusing on the concept of Biophilia, our innate need for nature, and how this can inspire applications for surface pattern design.
The MA was completed in 2018, during the 2 year course I developed the Biophilia Collection, which includes botanical silk scarves, cushions and fashion accessories featuring intricately hand drawn designs. In addition, I’ve developed a portfolio of interior applications for my surface pattern designs which includes laser-etched pieces and digital wallpaper murals.
